Flying high!

Yup... I'm flying high because I completed most of the CSS and the typing work... the only thing left is Acknowledgment and Disclaimer section and a little bit of JavaScript to add a possible bookmark option...

And it seems as I will have to specifically release another version for IE because the CSS3 layout wrecks havoc in it... (a pretty cool havoc though)

And I would advice everyone to give Maxthon a try... it's a really cool webkit browser (like Safari and Chrome)...

And Chrome still doesn't show  text-shadow after all the tweaking I'm doing with it...

But anyway, it has been a productive week for me...

Going Strong!!!

Yup... the style sheet for A Little Princess is almost complete.... I will say around 85% (I need to reserve the 15% in case I plan to change it...)
Now all I have to do is decide if I want to include JavaScript and then include it if I want to...

Otherwise, by tonight or at the latest, tomorrow, I will be done with everything except the JavaScript Part... although I don't plan to release it before June...

And before I forget, I tested it on the following browsers and it worked fine, after some initial troubles, that is:

Google Chrome:
v 12.0.742.12

Mozilla Firefox:
v 4.0.1

Opera:
v11.11 (Buid: 2109)

Apple Safari:
5.0.5 (Build: 7533.21.1)

Ah yes I know, I didn't test it on Internet Explorer because I have version 6 and believe me, it wrecked havoc in it... although it was some cool disaster...

I will probably write a bigger description on which browser to choose and make it a page for easy viewing...

Till then...

Progress!

Yesterday was a really productive day because I figured out much of the CSS style sheet and completed a great amount of styling...
This chart made with SourceMonitor would help you see what I'm talking about.

A Little Princess - How it all started

This is the first claasic undertaken by Re-Release for its well, re-release...

And just some weeks ago, I didn't even know about A Little Princess or Frances Hodgson Burnett for that matter...

But I always had a soft soft for the Anime "A Little Princess Sara" which is based on the novel...
I watched this Anime when I was a small child, but my cabel operator discontinued the channel... and so as years passed I forgot even the name of the show...

And once on Eridani Games Forum, we were talking about something, when I asked a fellow member about the show, giving him just the small fragments of my memories as hints...

And a long story short, one member from the same place, she asked on some forums and ultimately told me the name of the Anime...
I was so glad; it cannot be comprehended in mere words...

Anyway, I searched around the web, trying to find an English Translation but I couldn't...
But what I found was even better, I found Subtitled version of the Anime at Licca Fansubs.

And I also downloaded the e text version of the novel and felt bad when I see the jumbled mess of a fantastic novel (no offence intended)...

So this made me want to do something, and so Re-Release was born in my mind...

And this is the story of starting of Re-Release and why I took "A Little Princess" as the first project...

A step forward!

The Re-Release Project is now no longer restricted to HTML...

Using a HTML to PDF conveter (out of a bundle), I have managed to get the one which turns the HTML into IE6 style HTML style PDF...

I'm so happy...

There ave been some resaonable development in HTML JavaScript coding too.... and if everything goes right, I will post a screenshot...

Re-Release

Hello friends...
Re-Release is basically a project started by me which would reproduce the old novels and sometimes free story/novels into an interactive HTML format for reading.

Because let's face it; there may be lots of novel available in electronic format, but they all mostly are bland and quite frankly boring looking and you will end up not reading it, if you aren't a fan already or are not motivated by something to read the said novel.

So it's kind of a movement (:-p) by me to take the bland looks and turn them into something one would like to view...
Thanks...
